Hello Monday, we meet again..
Summer is upon us and hopefully, the UK will have some lovely weather in the next two months. Whether you’re going abroad, to the beach with friends or having a relaxing day in the garden; you need essentials. I’ve seen a few bloggers talk about their necessities so I thought I would join in and show you mine…
If I’ve got a few days off work, painting my nails is a treat and for Summer, pastel colours work really well. If you’ve read my blog for a while, you’ll know that Rimmel do my favourite nail polishes so naturally, I always turn to their counter when looking for a new colour. My personal favourite for Summer is Breakfast In Bed which is a soft mint shade – beautiful.
I am a huge bookworm – always have been, always will be. Being surrounded by books day in, day out is the best. Being in a Fictional world away from our crappy one is what everyone needs once in a while. Whether you’re reading Harry Potter, the new Paige Toon summer chick-lit or a murder mystery; take some time out for yourself and have a few hours reading.
Sunshine means needing eye protection. Everyone has their own particular style that they like and for me, the bigger the shades the better. I’ve had mine from Accessorize for about two years and I adore them. It’s not always about having designer sunglasses as high street stores do incredible ones. Just maybe stay away from the crazy Primark looking ones…
Everyone loves music and I’m certain that majority of iPhone users have a Summer playlist on their Spotify app, I know I do. Mine consists of a mixture of Justin Timberlake, Selena Gomez, Little Mix, Adele, Beyoncé and that very catchy tune Cake By The Ocean.
Summer + Heat = You don’t want to smell. I’ve spoken about my new perfume in a recent blog post, but in case you didn’t know I purchased Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs. It is such a beautiful scent which lingers for hours on end whether it’s a couple of sprays or multiple if you’re out and about. As it’s a light smelling perfume, it’s ideal for Summer. Plus, the bottle is stunning.
The Ideal Summer Outfit
This can be anything from denim shorts being paired with a little top and sandals or a pretty flowing dress with some chunky wedges. Whatever your style, own in, embrace it and don’t forget to take an OOTD for Instagram. Ha!
Concealer, powder, eyeliner, mascara, touch of blush and a pop of colour on the lips. Boom, that’s my minimal makeup done and dusted. It literally takes 10-15 minutes everyday and with my skincare routine being a religious routine, I find that my makeup doesn’t fall off my face. I do need to invest in a setting spray in case the weather does get super hot, so please leave your recommendations below if you have any.
