Diagon Alley, York Minster + Cupcakes // York Day Two

Hello weekend…

Hang on a minute, have you read about Day One?

After a not so-great sleep followed by a heavenly morning bath, we went to Spring Espresso for breakfast. The Mr went for a croissant with jam and I went for mushrooms, little bits of bacon and chive on brioche bread. Can I have that, every day please? It was absolutely delicious and went perfectly with a large cup of tea. It was drizzling with the rain, the staff were so lovely and it was seriously cosy inside. I could have set up camp there.

After breakfast and before we had to check out at 12, we wandered the streets while it was a quiet Monday. We popped into a shop called Give The Dog A Bone which was seriously festive and I treated myself to a new Harry Potter mug. The Shambles (which was JK Rowling’s inspiration for Diagon Alley) was deserted so naturally, it was the ideal Instagram shot.

Now, this would be the part where I shower you with pictures of York Minster, but seeing as I already have a blog post planned about that, you’ll have to wait until the 3rd of December – so not that long in reality.

After hiding away in York Minster due to the heavy rain (lets not even mention it anymore because we were seriously miserable due to it), we darted into Wok & Go which was rather delicious and cheap for a late lunch.

The main reason why we went to York was to explore the Christmas Markets but due to the heavy rain, we only managed to see a handful of stalls which was particularly annoying so here’s one shot that I managed to get of some tasty fudge, and yes, I did buy some.

We darted into an adorable cupcake place called Crumbs Cupcakery for a cupcake and pot of tea to warm up. Again, I’ve got another blog post coming your way with more pictures and information on the 7th of December. The lady behind the counter was extremely friendly and helped us figure out our next move seeing as the weather was terrible – so thank you!

York is rather beautiful, but make sure you go when the weather is nice because there are more outdoor things to do rather than indoors. Have you been before?
