The Sunday Post #27

Guess who is going on a week long road trip tomorrow?

You may remember a while ago that I spoke about how the Mr and I had finally decided on where to go during the week that our second anniversary falls on. Don’t worry, I will keep you all updated on my Instagram Stories as there won’t be a blog post next Sunday (just a lil’ heads up).

“Welcome to Sunny Manchester”

Every time the Mr and I go to Manchester for the day, he usually comments on how it’s never sunny but due to the heatwave, it was actually sunny (and slightly cloudy).

Our whole purpose of going into Manchester was due to the Mr running in his first proper 10k and with it being dedicated to those 22 souls who we sadly lost in the MEN Arena attack, it was an honour that he just couldn’t miss out on.

His run was very successful despite the heat and his finishing time was 47 minutes and 20 seconds which is absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t be prouder of him.

Fresh Nails

The day before we flew to Crete, I had my nails done by someone who I’ve never been to before and five days later, my gels had completely fallen off and left my nails in horrific condition.

With that being said, I booked myself an appointment at Nailista (Police Street) while we were in Manchester and seeing as I’ve been there three times before, I know they’ll last a solid 3+ weeks.

I did go for a colour which is out of my comfort zone but I love them!

For those who I know will ask, I went for the shade “sexy.”

Nakd Bars

The Nakd Verdict

Over on Instagram, I uploaded a story about my love for the Blueberry Muffin Nakd bar and for some very strange reason, I got a lot of messages about it.

I then purchased three more: my beloved Chocolate Orange and two which I’d never tried before: Berry Delight and Lemon Drizzle. People asked me to review those.

Is this my life now? So, I thought it’d be funny to include them on my blog (I worked with Nakd a few years ago, but this isn’t in collaboration with them)..

  • Chocolate Orange will always get a solid 9.5 out of 10.
  • Blueberry Muffin actually tasted like a blueberry muffin – my mind was blown! I’d give that a good 8 out 10.
  • Berry Delight had a lot of hype around it but there was only a slight hint of berry so I’d give that a 6.5 out of 10.
  • Lemon Drizzle, oh how I wanted to love you. No. Just no. Straight in the bin after one bite. I wanted to like it, but I didn’t so that’s a 1 out of 10.

Girls Day

I flippin’ love Megan.

We found ourselves in Liverpool on Wednesday for another few hours of taking blog photos as well as a little bit of shopping (oops!). Liverpool doesn’t have as many photo spots as London does but this week, we decided to shoot at St George’s Hall which is beautiful on the outside as well as inside.

We stopped off at Love Thy Neighbour for a hot chocolate before having a nosy in Primark before I remembered that the umbrellas had been brought back for a few months and they look absolutely beautiful.

Revolution (02)

Date Night With Revolution

On Wednesday evening, the Mr and I were kindly invited to Revolution on St Peter’s Square, Fleet Square in Liverpool for date night.

The food was delicious!

I don’t want to say a lot because I have a review coming up in the week or so..

What I’ve Been Reading

Last weekend, I inhaled Before You Go by Clare Swatman and I’m still in shock at how utterly magnificent it was.

I’m pretty sure I managed to start and finish it within 24 hours but seriously, it is such a beautiful book.

You know there will be a review coming your way..

In Other News..

England. Wow. What a run we’ve had in the World Cup. Even though Croatia beat us 2-1 (didn’t deserve to win!), our lads certainly made the entire nation extremely proud. I did find it absolutely hilarious that so many bloggers jumped on the bandwagon – my Twitter timeline was constantly full of updates!

I had my third and fourth PT sessions this week and I AM SORE. I’ve started to share my fitness journey over on my Instagram Stories as you can quickly update your audience on that platform rather than waiting to hear it on my blog. I’m enjoying it but on Tuesday, I was in a horrible bad mood (it did make me work harder) simply because I felt like I wasn’t achieving anything. I am. It’ll just take time.

FAN GIRL MOMENT. This week, I was mentioned of the At Home With podcast which Lily and Anna host every single Wednesday and I am still shocked. I think they mention my tweet around two minutes in which is pretty damn cool.
