The Sunday Post #29

It is HOT.

Yup, that’s right. I’m moaning about the heatwave because I’m a typical British person but honestly, I’m so ready for jumpers and the dark evenings now. Bring it on.

It’s been two weeks since the last Sunday post and there has been a lot going on..

Our Anniversary Trip

The whole reason why I didn’t post last Sunday was simply because we had just got home from our week away and quite frankly, I was too tired to even unpack.

For our two year anniversary, we decided to do a road trip to Bath, Cornwall and Cardiff. It was a jam packed week and it was just absolutely brilliant. I was able to work with Visit Bath and the Eden Project while we were away which was a true blogging highlight for me. My camera roll was BURSTING by the time we got home so I hope you’re ready for all the photos over several blog posts…

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

On Tuesday afternoon after my PT session, Megan and I went to watch Mamma Mia at Cineworld after hearing all about it on social media.

I won’t spoil it for anyone but Julie Walters is the reason that the audience will laugh. Honestly, I just adore that woman so much and she continued to bring Rosie to life. I loved the flashbacks of meeting Donna at University, watching her meet all three men, discovering the Greek island and falling pregnant. This is the main storyline of the entire film. Unlike the first film, it was all about Sophie meeting her Dad for the first time and then deciding that she doesn’t want to get married right there and then. But in the sequel, there is none of that – it’s just about honouring Donna, her dream of the hotel and Sophie bringing that to life.

I liked it. I didn’t love it. There were about five songs which I knew and a lot of B sides which aren’t as ABBA famous as Dancing Queen etc. But it was a fun sequel and I like the cast did a fantastic job. It is well worth the watch, but for me, it just didn’t have the same sparkle as the first film.

In Other News…

I’m still very much reading Somewhere Beyond The Sea by Miranda Dickinson. I definitely didn’t read as much as I wanted to during our trip but I’ve reached about half way through the plot and so far, I’m really enjoying it. Determined to finish it this week.

Guess who lost 3 pounds this week?* I actually lost weight and I’m over the moon about it. I’ve had six workout sessions with my PT now and I’ve just finished my second week of being on a healthier food plan. Very much enjoying seeing the scales giving me lighter numbers.

  1. Sounds like you had a lovely week away! Bath and Cornwall are some of my favourite places. I’ve never been to Cardiff, would you recommend it? Just been to see Mamma Mia 2 and you’re right, Julie Walters is brilliant! Megan x
