Gel Nails On A Budget

I enjoy having my nails done.

Whether I’ve treated myself to a trip to the nail salon or it’s a quick painting session during the break of Hollyoaks, I just adore having colourful nails but with my current situation of being unemployed (sigh), going to a salon is out of the question for the moment and so, I turned to my favourite nail brand for gel nails on a budget.

Rimmel have been my go-to brand for all things nails for a number of years. I have always been a big fan of their 60 Seconds Super Shine (£2.99), but a few weekends ago, I picked up my very first Super Gel (£5.99) polish and I don’t think I’ll be looking back.

Hip Hop is a colour that I have fallen in love with.

Coral is a shade which I have been obsessed with a number of years and so, when I saw this colour in my local Boots, I bought it without going through my usual, “will it suit me?” moment.

My nails aren’t in the best condition at the moment and so, I opt for three coats of colour, plus one coating of the Super Gel Top Coat (£5.99). My nails are brickle, they don’t hold nail polish for more than two weeks and I am that person who paints her nails and then desperately needs the toilet.

The Super Gel provides up to fourteen days of colour, you don’t need a UV lamp, the formula dries just like regular polish and they’re pretty easy to remove with nail polish remover.

Top tip: don’t peel them off as they will damage your nails.

I will forever be a long lasting fan of the 60 Seconds nail polish, but I think I’ve now been converted to the Super Gel.
