Fun fact: I own five lipsticks and all of them are from drugstore brands.
I used to have countless lipsticks, lip liners, liquid lipsticks, matte lipsticks – the full works but as snazzy as they are all look for photos and the ol’ gram, I barely used any of them and so, I did a huge clear out and left myself with only five.
The first two lipsticks within my collection are from Rimmel.
Rimmel are a brand who have a lot of selection when it comes to lipsticks:
- Lasting Finish (£4.95)
- Lasting Finish Red Instinct by Rita Ora
- Lasting Finish by Kate Moss (£3.99)
- Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine
- The Only One Lipstick (£6.99)
- Lasting Finish by Kate, The Nude Collection (£3.99)
- Moisture Renew Lipstick (£5.24)
- Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss
- The Kate Spring Lipstick Collection (£5.49)
**All prices shared are as stated from the Rimmel website.
Not only do Rimmel have a lot of choice, but the value for money is absolutely superb. My personal favourite from their selection is the Moisture Renew lipsticks and I would happily purchase more as the finish is gorgeous and needs hardly any touch ups throughout the day.
The moisturising formula contains vitamins A, C and E which enables your lips to be soft throughout the entire day as well as allowing the colour to last for a long period of time.
The two shades which I own are 220 Heather Shimmer (out of stock) and 150 Piccadilly Pink (also out of stock). I haven’t owned these lipsticks long but Heather Shimmer is my perfect Autumnal shade which goes perfectly with my mustard jumper and pinafores. As for Piccadilly Pink, I bought this shade towards the back end of the summer and despite not getting a lot of wear out of it, I can’t wait to continue wearing it next year.
Max Factor are a brand who I adore and I’ve been very lucky to have worked with the team in previous collaborations. A few years ago, I was gifted a few of their Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipsticks and even though I enjoyed a few of their other shades, the only that really stood out for me was So Luxuriant which is another one of my go-to shades for Autumn.
The Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipsticks (£8.99) give eight hours of colour, allows your lips to remain moist throughout the day and the formula gives off an incredible creamy finish.
The final two lipsticks within my collection are from Collection Cosmetics who are a brand that I discovered through blogging and I’m so glad I did because my all time favourite lipstick is from their counter.
The lasting colour lipsticks (£2.99) are my favourite – they’re long lasting, they keep your lips moist (ugh at that word), the price is insane and the variation of colours draws me in every single time.
The two shades that I have are China Rose (aka. the absolute favourite) and Red Carpet which is the perfect shade to wear throughout December, nights out, New Year and date night.
I much prefer to have a smaller lipstick collection than have a ridiculous amount when I know that I’m not going to get a lot of wear out of them all.
Less is more. Yup, I’m going with that.
