A Mid-Week Treat At Revolution

Sometimes throwing in a treat during the middle of the week is exactly what you need.

The Mr and I were very kindly invited to Revolution at St. Peter’s Square on Thursday evening of last week for a chilled out date night. We have worked with the team before at several locations but we always love returning as the food is so much nicer than people would ever expect.

The one thing I really love about the menu at Revolution is that there is choice for everyone; burgers, pizza, fish and chips, pasta, salads, curries and quite possibly, the best ribs I’ve ever had.

Disclaimer: We were kindly gifted this meal in exchange for a blog post and coverage on Instagram Stories.

The vibe in Revolution can be mixed; if you visit during mid-week, you may see a few University crowds in there whereas if you go bang-smack in the middle of a weekend, it’s going to be full as it’s a popular place within Liverpool.

You can reserve tables ahead of time so be certain to do that to avoid any disappointment.

The cocktail menu at Revolution is actually insane and the list is very much longer than my two arms put together but that’s why people love going back: the choice!

The Mr opted for a drink called The Zombie (£9.00) which is a vegan / vegetarian cocktail made up of Old J Spiced, Gosling’s Black Seal, Bacardi Carta Blanca along with a handful of spices and fruit. This is one of the R Heart Cocktails that are 2-4-1 during Happy Hour which is every day until 9pm!

Seeing as I don’t drink alcohol, I went for the classic strawberry lemonade which is also vegan / vegetarian and gluten free (£3.50).

One of my favourite things about going to Revolution is ordering the sticky chicken grazer because quite frankly, it is the best thing since sliced bread.

The grazers are a fantastic choice whether it’s just the two of you, a small group or it’s girls night and you’re just looking for a few little nibbles. At Revolution, they do a fantastic deal of three grazers for £13.00 and there is choice for everyone.

We opted for Sticky Chicken in BBQ Sauce (our favourite!), For Duck’s Sake (shredded duck in lettuce) and Cajun Popcorn Shrimp. There’s obviously no need to tell you which one we loved because that’s a given but the popcorn shrimp took me by surprise – hardly any spice (which I love) and I’ll definitely be ordering it again.

It’s not a date night without a second cocktail and for the Mr, he went for the classic Pina Colada (£9.25 – vegeterian) before our main meals arrived.

Honestly, I struggled with what to choose – part of me wanted the mac and cheese, part of me wanted half a rack of ribs but most of me leaned towards one of the burgers as I’m yet to try one.

The Mr opted for the full rack of ribs which comes with skin on fries and a little side of nachos (£12.50) which I was royally jealous about because the ribs at Revolution are absolutely superb. I, on the other hand, went for the bacon and cheese beef burger (£10.50) – there isn’t a description for this on the online menu but bear in mind: it’s two beef patties and quite frankly, I couldn’t even eat one as it was so thick and juicy.

Dinner at Revolution will never disappoint. The staff are always very friendly, the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is just perfect for a little date night.

A huge thank you to the team who very kindly hosted us that evening.
